Chunxue Li , Yihong Chen , Guangfu Liao
With the development of society and the continuous improvement of economic activities, environmental problems have become increasingly serious, posing great threats to human society and ecological systems. Mineral functional materials have been widely applied in environmental remediation owing to their high stability, abundant reserves, low cost, low toxicity, easy recovery, and excellent treatment performance. This review focuses on the applications of mineral functional materials in wastewater remediation, air pollution control, and soil remediation. The recent progress in the removal of dyes, heavy metal ions, nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients, gaseous pollutants, soil heavy metals, and organic pollutants is systematically summarized. Finally, the future opportunities, challenges, and development directions of mineral functional environmental materials are discussed.
